    Book Launch for “The Impossible Arises” by Chris Mortensen

    University Chancellor McRobbie helped celebrate the launch of the IU Press book "The Impossible Arises: Oscar Reutersvärd and His Contemporaries," written by Chris Mortensen, professor emeritus in the Department of Philosophy at the University of Adelaide. Reutersvärd founded the Impossible Figures movement in 1934 by drawing the first impossible triangle. “The Impossible Arises" features images acquired by IU's Lilly Library in 2014 as part of a collection of over 1,700 pages of letters and drawings.

    University Chancellor McRobbie introduced the newest programming of the Michael A. McRobbie's Choice Series at the IU Cinema. The fall 2022 series honors the long legacy of filmmaking in Ukraine, from recent releases to one of the most celebrated films in the history of Ukrainian cinema -- Oleksandr Dovzhenko’s 1930 masterpiece, "Earth."
